Quiet Time at St John's Shopping Centre

Join us every Sunday from 11am – 1pm for some Quiet Time, our new scheme which will launch on Sunday 3^rd October 2021 and run every Sunday thereafter.

Quiet time will help to create a more relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience for all, providing customers with a break from the sensory overload as well as help create a relaxing environment for shoppers who might find the hustle and bustle of a busy shopping environment overwhelming and stressful.

During Quiet Time you will notice some subtle changes throughout the centre to help create a low-sensory shopping experience, such as reducing noise and distractions. These changes are designed to help make a difference to customers who find it challenging to shop in a heightened sensory environment.

Below is a list of changes we will implement every Sunday from 11am – 1pm.

• Turn off the music played within the mall and toilets.
• All retailers will also turn off their music in-store.
• No PA announcements will be made except in the case of emergencies.
• Switch off all kiddies’ rides.
• Switch off hand dryers in the public toilets and replace with paper hand towels. Please note: the hand dryer within the disabled toilet will still be accessible but hand towels will also be available.
• Reduce lighting levels where and when possible.
• Turn off all internal and external Christmas lights every Sunday during the period in which Christmas decorations are on display.
